The Homelessness Project

One in every 30 American children are homeless in the United States. To add to that, on any given day, there are approximately 443,000 children put into foster care.

Approximately 15% of children experience eviction by the age of 15, with higher rates among families living below the poverty line.  22% of them get separated from their families and are put into foster care.  Some schools in America state that up to 61% of their kids are homeless.

As a result of these statistics, Sharing WW decided to join with others and come up with a program.  There is an urgency to this, because when children are homeless, they are much more susceptible to become victims of sex trafficking, turn to drugs, become violent, or commit suicide.

Where And Who We Have Helped

For those who need immediate overnight help to get off the street, we have a budget to pay for a motel.

For those who have a job but cannot afford the high rents, we supply a fully equipped apartment that the family can stay in for 60-90 days, teach them how to do a budget, raise their credit ratings and work towards getting them an affordable permanent place to live.

We have purchased an apartment building and home in California and lowered the rents, so they are affordable. It also has an apartment that is designated for the 60-90 day program.

We have purchased trailers for those who could not find an affordable place to live.
